There are 2 options to upgrade your system to the latest version of LightHouse II.

Download R17 direct to your computer and save to a micro SD card to update your MFD manually.

If you are currently running LightHouse R15 on your MFD, it can download and update itself to LightHouse R17. Connect your MFD’s wireless networking to a Wi-Fi access point or hotspot, then tell it to check online for updates. Your MFD can retrieve the latest updates from Raymarine and install them automatically.
The new Lighthouse II Release 17 software update will deliver the following feature enhancements:

R17 introduces a new and improved Autorouting feature from Navionics.
Based on chart data and navigation aids, Autorouting creates detailed routes (even through narrow passages and channels) using a superior Autorouting algorithm.
The system automatically accounts for channel markers and bouys, and routes along Fairways rather than the shortest distance - with added warnings on complicated routes.
To enable Dock to dock Navionics owners must update their Navionics+, Platinum+ or HotMaps Platinum chart cards after April 1st, 2016 by visiting the Navionics online store.
To enable SonarChart Live Navionics owners must update their Navionics+, Platinum+ or HotMaps Platinum chart cards after April 1st, 2016 by visiting the Navionics online store.
The new GRIB View home screen app brings global weather forecasts to your Raymarine Multifunction Display.
Supported weather options include:
Subscription to Theyr Weather enables you to download weather forecasts data directly to your MFD when you're connected to the internet. Once out on the water you can retrieve and play forecast data from files stored on microSD or internal memory.
Select from the following data types:
Wind speed and direction. 10m (standard)
Pressure: MSLP, mean sea level pressure
Precipitation: Total precipitation
Air Temperature: 2m (standard)
Wind speed + Direction and Wave height
Wave Height / Direction / Period: Significant height of combined wind/wave and swell.
Wind speed and direction / Pressure / Precipitation
SST: Sea Surface temperature (1.0 and 0.1 degree). Updates every 24 hours.
NEXRAD (Next generation radar): US coverage. Historical radar precipitation. Loads 25 x 10 min time step (4 hours) of the most recent historical data starting from the oldest. Resolution is 0.018 degree. Server updates every 10 minutes.
Tidal Stream: Speed and Direction of surface tidal current covering North West European continental shelf at 0.018 degree resolution. 3 days x 3 hour default and x 1 hour available via weather dialog.

C-MAP have teamed up with Active Captain and will include Active Captain’s verified crowd sourced information including:
Active Captain is compatible with C-MAP 4D MAX & 4D MAX+ cartography starting in March 2016.
Data will be updated 4 times per year (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall)
R17 brings the inclusion of an integrated audio application to control NMEA200 compatible audio equipment.
Raymarine will partner with Rockford Fosgate to offer a range of compatible products with full audio control from the MFD. The first compatible product is the PMX-5.
Other features include:
Waypoint will now be placed appropriately to the side of the vessel track on the chart app.
A new Lighthouse II Release 16 software update will deliver the following feature enhancements.
This release is for a, c, e, eS & gS Series MFD only.
Key Features and Enhancements:
LightHouse II Release 16 provides compatibility and communication with the new Raymarine Quantum™ radar products.
Release 16 has added a pairing option in the External Devices > Quantum Radar menu to allows the user to enter the SSID & Passcode of the wirelessly connected Quantum™ radar system.
Search Patterns are now available with LightHouse II Release 16 to assist Coast Guard & Law Enforcement, and others, users in SAR (Search & Rescue) scenarios.
The search pattern feature will allow the creation of ‘Sector Search’, ‘Expanding Square’ & ‘Creeping/Parallel Line’, using tidal drift and speed values.
Track limit remains 10,000 points per track. Tracks now auto‐save and start a new track without user interaction and minimizes unnecessary button presses to manage tracks.
Quick Waypoint by Lat/Lon entry is needed when wanting to respond to a distressed vessel. The interaction of the Rotary and OK button has been improved when touch entry is not possible do to rough sea state.
New Master Display lost notification and selection dialogue. Reduces inadvertent changes to the Master when displays power on out of sync or a momentary loss of Master display.
