Software Update for Raymarine AIS5000

• Support for commanding Message 6 in S3 Restricted mode

• AIS5000 “GPS only” GNSS mode is now retained once a factory reset is applied using the ‘Minimum Keyboard Display’ (MKD) menu option.

• BeiDou support

• Changes to the NMEA200 screen, providing three separate source menus and allowing independent configuration based on the data type supported:
  • Heading source
  • ROT source
  • Position source

• BUG – ONLY If the AIS5000 has a NMEA 2000 GNSS source set rather than relying on its own GNSS antenna then standard AIS position reports are still sent even if the mode is set to ‘Restricted’.
• BUG – When transitioning to ‘Restricted’ mode from ‘Normal’ mode, standard AIS position reports on occasion will continue to be sent for up to a minute due to slot reservations.
• FIRMWARE – The RF synthesiser component used in the AIS5000 is going obsolete. An alternative component has been fitted and this firmware accommodates for both the old and new RF synthesisers. There is no observable change/impact for the user.

Modem software version 110200.01.11.00 changes are:

• ABM message 6 requests in 'Restricted' mode is no longer possible
• Sending of 'Safety Related Messages' (ITU 12/14) from the transponder in 'Restricted' mode is no longer possible
• Sending of 'Safety Related Message ACKs' (ITU 13) from the transponder in 'Restricted' mode is no longer possible
• ABK response to ITDMA scheduled requests in 'Restricted' mode is no longer possible
• Sending of 'Communication Test Messages' from the transponder in 'Restricted' mode is no longer possible

MKD software version 110405.01.16.02 changes are:

• 'STEDs mode' icons are included in the status bar
• Access is blocked to text message creation on the MKD when in restricted mode
• Access is blocked to "Communication Test" when in restricted mode
• Access is blocked to text message composition via 3 line buttons
• Access is blocked to text message composition when in receive only mode
• Access is blocked to "Communication Test" when in received only mode
• Firmware version information is removed from MKD screens unless firmware update detected
• Handles scenario when operational mode changes (externally) while on compose message screen
• Handles scenario when operational mode changes (externally) while on Installation and AIS SART test screen
