Raymarine chosen as preferred electronics supplier for Nordship Yachts’ new Custom Line

December 2012

Nordship Yachts, the Danish-based manufacturer of cruising yachts, has launched a unique service enabling boat owners to create their own exclusive dream boat. The introduction of ‘Custom Line’ will make Nordship the world’s first ever boatyard to offer ‘one-design’, fully-customised, luxury cruising yachts from 46 feet upwards.

The service is being headed by Nordship founder Lars Buchwald, and enables boat owners to be involved in every aspect of their cruising yacht’s design and build, from hull design to build materials, layout, rig, interior design and electronics, while costing no more than comparable yachts from leading manufacture of luxury production yachts.

Raymarine has been chosen by Nordship as its preferred choice for all the electronics, communication and navigation systems also on its Custom Line builds. Jørn Olesen, Sales Manager at Nordship said: “We are very confident in recommending Raymarine for our Custom Line, as it provides everything our boat owners need in terms of flexibility, quality and performance.”

Raymarine’s e Series multi function displays and the new i Series instruments were highlighted as key products to be fitted onboard Nordship’s Custom yachts. “We know Custom Line owners will require sophisticated but easy-to-use, high quality and extremely reliable electronics,” continued Olesen. A key user feature of Raymarine products, highlighted by Olesen, is that user instructions are now accessible on the screen, making the equipment easy to operate and removing the need to refer to instruction manuals.

Nordship Yachts are sold throughout the world via its international distributor network, and so Raymarine’s customer service and worldwide support and service facilities were also paramount for Nordship. Olesen said, “Raymarine’s customer service is always excellent. We know when we place an order we get everything we need in that delivery, from the hardware through to all the behind-the-scenes cables and installation equipment. We also know that should a customer ever have a query, no matter where they are in the world, if they call us we can get onto Raymarine Denmark to sort it out, which is made possible using Raymarine’s worldwide network of service and support agents.”

Olesen concludes “With our Custom Line, we aim to give the customer the ultimate – the best boat, the best equipment, the best service – and Raymarine is a key part of that experience.”
