Raymarine launches gS195 Glass Bridge Multifunction Display

Raymarine announces inaugural Raymarine J/80 Championships

Raymarine is proud to announce the company’s sponsorship of the inaugural Raymarine J/80 Championships. A season-long series of UK-based events, the 2014 Raymarine J/80 Championship starts in April with the Warsash Spring Championships, moving on to the J/80 Nationals in Poole and the Royal Southern Yacht Club Regatta in May. June sees the 2014 Raymarine J/80 Championship take in the JP Morgan Round the Island Race, followed by the J-Cup in July, culminating in the last weekend of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week in August. The J/80 is a highly successful One Design with over 1450 J/80s sailing world-wide.

Raymarine’s Racemaster first across the line as Geoff Carveth wins SB20 World Championships

The UON SB20 World Championships, held at Hamilton Island in December 2012, saw one of the closest fought series of races. The event concluded with Geoff Carveth’s British WKD team sailing into the SB20 class history books to be crowned SB20 world champion for the third time. Raymarine has announced the appointment of Petter Odenhall as Sales Manager for Raymarine Sverige AB. Leading the dedicated Raymarine team in the region, his responsibilities will include sales, marketing and product support in Sweden.

Raymarine Sverige is a wholly-owned Raymarine subsidiary established in 2011 as a dedicated customer, sales and technical support organisation in this important market. Odenhall has over 6 years of extensive knowledge of the marine industry having been previously employed by Belamarin AB.

Odenhall succeeds Stefan Berne who has decided to ‘pass on the baton’ after many years in the marine leisure industry in Sweden. Widely respected in the boating market, Berne will be missed by customers and colleagues alike.

One of the first boats to be installed with Raymarine’s new e7 HybridTouch™ multifunction displays is the new Ferryside Independent Lifeboat. This custom built Ribcraft 6.4m lifeboat is a ‘declared facility’ and is responsible for answering 999 calls in the same way as the RNLI. Jock Wishart and crew rely on Raymarine

Jock Wishart and his five fellow oarsmen have achieved a world first by rowing 450 miles to reach the recognised (1996) position of the magnetic North Pole*.
